Standards of Dove Care
- Our lofts are not over crowded or unsanitary.
- Our birds are wormed regularly and checked for lice and treated if necessary.
- Our birds are always well fed and provided with fresh water at all times.
- We will answer any inquiries from clients professionally and quickly. If we cannot do a release, we will recommend you to other members of the International White Dove Society if available.
- We will arrive on time for our engagements, and we will be dressed professionally.
- All displays and releases will be to a professional standard.
- 2 Months notice must be given for weekday release bookings.
- To ensure a pleasant and professional atmosphere at your event and for the safety of our doves we follow a strict release policy.
- Lennox White Doves is committed to making your dove releases a memorable event.
- We guarantee our releases are co-ordinated by experienced dove handlers.
- We release only well trained, well cared for WHITE DOVES from white racing pigeon stock. These are also known as Rock Doves (Columba Livia). Under no circumstance are other types of doves ever released, although other types may be used for display.
- We only release well trained birds outdoors during daylight hours at distances that they have been trained to fly safely home. We place the health and safety of our doves first and foremost. For this reason, we adhere to a humane release policy with strict provisions to protect our birds from dangerous circumstances.
- While birds are being held for display, we assure that they are in baskets that are large enough to be comfortable and safe. The baskets or cages will be kept in safe areas, not too hot or too cold.
- We like to attend your rehearsal it possible to discuss the best place for the birds to be set up safely.
- We arrive at the release site 30 minutes prior to the time of the event to begin our set up.
- We will communicate with your photographer and Celebrant/Minister if required.
- Our birds have identity bands fitted to their legs. Some have special Lennox White Doves bands with our telephone number on them in case they get lost on their way home. This rarely happens to properly trained birds.
- The safety and well-being of our birds must be considered and preserved at all times.
- We do not ship birds for self-release. An experienced handler MUST accompany and be in attendance with our birds at the event.
- Doves may be released from sunrise to late afternoon at times that allow them to safely return to their Lennox Head loft prior to sunset.
- Lennox White Doves has a commitment for excellence whenever we carry out a white dove release, but sometimes circumstances come in to play beyond anyone’s control.
- Certain weather conditions make it unsafe for doves to be released. These conditions may include, heavy/persistent rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, extreme heat or cold. During such conditions, birds will not be released.
- Lennox White Doves reserves the right to determine on the day if the release must be cancelled due to inclement weather. There are also some times we will not release doves due to the danger from the presence of Falcons or Hawks.
- We consider a white dove release booked and your date reserved when Lennox White Doves receives the signed contract and $50.00 deposit. Full payment must be made 7 days prior to the release.
- We accept payment by Cheque, Direct Deposit, EFTPOS and Credit Card.
- Lennox White Doves will determine the weather conditions on the day. If the doves are not released, four display birds in decorative cages (see 'cages' gallery)will be provided at your alternate undercover venue. If the venue cannot accommodate live animals, Lennox white Doves will refund your money less $50.00 service charge.
- Should inclement weather be pending, Lennox White Doves will make every attempt to contact client before leaving the loft to discuss the options available for the day.
- If Lennox White Doves is at the release site with the doves and the release has been delayed and it becomes too late to complete the release. Lennox White Doves reserves the right to cancel the release and deny a refund of any money. We allow 30 minutes for delay, after your booked release time.
- We take your privacy seriously!
- We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully.
- We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.
- The type of information we will collect about you includes:
- your name - address - phone number - email address - release details
- This information is keep for Lennox White Doves use only and will not be distributed to any other entity ever.
- The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.
- Lennox White Doves does seek permission in its contract with you to use photographs taken by them of the actual release, for promotional purposes unless you state otherwise.
